Blanket from my old jeans – working progress

So… first of all, I have collected a lot of jeans, mainly from my old ones, here are the half of them:

I have bought a fabric for the back side of the blanket, and I will probably make some pillows with that as well… Now, I only have to decide the size of the whole thing, and the pattern… ๐Ÿ™‚ Easy…

Plans: blanket from my old jeans

I have a lot of old jeans, and I’ve asked the family to give me theirs as well, so I had to start thinking about the use of them. I’ve collected a lot of ideas, and I think, I will make something like this (without any other type of fabric added):

I want to change a bit in that, because I think, it’s better if the lines are matching (I mean, every line is same size), but I will see, how it looks like.

My sewing machine was broken by my son, my dad fixed it now, but I have to wait a bit with that (bah!), so, this project stats tomorrow, and I hope, I’ll finish by the end of the year. Then, I’ll make some pillows (a big one for our reading nest, and a lot of small ones), and a big basket for my yarns (with the pockets from my old jeans). :))

I’ll post the steps what I take. ๐Ÿ™‚

A new style of felt pendant

I was so proud of this pendant, it came to my mind, and finally, I am finished.

And a small story for that: my husband’s brother has asked it to give it to his girlfriend. I was a bit sad for that, but it’s okay, he likes it more, then he can have it. But… the girl just doesn’t like it that much, she said, it’s not her style. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I really have to make a new one, but it won’t be the same. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Cook 20 new recipes – here is the first one!

Look at these sweets:

Cinammon Rolls

I wanted to make something new, and as we likes the cinnamon (and my son might eat it as well), I decided to try this recipe:

Dough:

  • 1/4-ounce package yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup melted butter, plus more for pan
  • 3/4 cup sugar, plus more for pan
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

(I did not make any glaze, as in general, the american baked things are too sweets for me, but at this time, it was a wrong idea! So, make some sugar glaze to the top!) ~ Anyway, it was all right!

My shop: felt creations, and some more

I don’t know where should I start.. so here is a small story about me, and my craftiness. ๐Ÿ™‚

Some months ago, I went to a workshop, where I could paint porcelain things, and on the other table, people made some beautiful jewelries from fabric and felt. I wondered, if I can try that at home, so I gave it a try. I had only 3 or 4 types of colors, but I have started to imagine something, then I’ve created it. Here is the result:
Teardrops - felt earrings

Hmm.. was a good idea, but I can say, this is not my best work. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have started to buy fabric, colorful beads, seashells and glass things, yarns. The ideas just came, andย I have to say, that my creations are getting better – my friends and family members are wearing my jewelries – and me of course. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am not sure, if my jewelries are good enough to sell, but I have created an Etsy shop to show my work. Some people favourited my items, some of them has favourited the whole shop, but there are no selling still (I am a member for like 5-6 months). Now, I think the whole family is wearing my jewelries, but that’s all right. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are some colorful creations:

50 Projects ’till the end of 2013

I have found a topic on Craftser.org named ’50 projects 2010′, so I wanted to create something similar… I have started to create a list, and it was filled with a lot of beautiful stuffs… then I just had to forget it for a while. I had a wedding, and then… we have other things to do, as our baby was on the way.

Then, I thought,ย when the baby arrives: no more hard work for me – so I probably will have some time to finish my former projects, and have some new crafts. What I have to do first: I PROMISE that I won’t start crafting anything else until I have finished this list. I have to say, that it’s not easy. I am still working (from home), and he is almost 1,5 years old. But still, I have some time to be creative (you can see that in my etsy shop :))
